The Border Project is a traveling mixed media art exhibit highlighting the perspectives of high school students living along culturally and politically controversial present-day borders. It is the final outcome of students from three schools sharing their views through artistic expression.
These schools are:
- Ajo High School (Ajo, AZ)
- Tohono O'odham High School (Tohono O’odham Nation, AZ)
- COBACH (Sonoyta. Sonora, Mexico)
The Border Project provides an exceptional opportunity to empower students to voice their opinions in a very deliberate and profound way, to promote open dialogue across three nations, to display student artwork in a professional setting, and to raise awareness and educate people on what’s really happening along the US / Mexico border. A key tenant of the project is to spread information and share personal experiences without being tainted by politics or media bias.
